China Town light boxes

Posted by Pete in Design, Illustration

Dinner in China Town is great! Only if you get the view I had the other night. Unfortunately the food was only just average, but I was too busy staring out the window at the bright lights like a stunned mullet to notice too much about the food. These lightboxes by design duo Craig & Karl were definitely making my night!

The designs are part of the 206 Bourke Street redevelopment. They successfuly add a bit atmosphere to the space akin to Japanese kawaii (in a Chinese? format). Anyway it works for me. The light exuding from the lightboxes creates super lush bright colours that draw you in. The patterns and illustrations are very nice, and the placement in terms of colours works really well when walking along Little Bourke Street.

Go and check it out sometime!
